Minor in something Major
Contact Dr. Laura Hastings [email protected] with any questions about the HR&D minor!
The CHRD supports a BIS Minor in Human Rights and Democracy to connect students with the study of human rights across the globe.
Human rights is the radical idea that every person is entitled to certain unalienable rights – life, liberty, expression, security, justice, health and more. Human rights cannot exist without democracy, and likewise, democracy cannot exist without human rights.
Learn this rich tradition of political and social thought with a minor in Human Rights and Democracy. Pair this minor with almost any major, and connect your interests to real-world social and political problems.
Our faculty come from all over the university – African American Studies, Anthropology, History, Political Science, Religious Studies, Geosciences, Sociology, Women’s, Sexuality and Gender Studies and more!
