Daniel J. Young is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University. He holds a Ph.D. from UCLA and a B.A. from Notre Dame. Dr. Young is a research affiliate at the Center for Human Rights and Democracy, and a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development. His research focuses on issues of political development in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Young lives in Atlanta with his dog Riley, and is an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Professor Young’s research is published, or forthcoming, in the Journal of Politics, Party Politics, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Democratization, Electoral Studies, and the Journal of Democracy.
