Dr. Altman’s scholarly activity is mainly in the areas of legal and political philosophy, with a focus on contemporary topics such as human rights, discrimination, genocide, and freedom of expression. His current projects include co-editing and writing the introduction for the book, Targeted Killings: Law and Morality in an Asymmetrical World (Oxford University Press) and coauthoring the book, Pornography: For and Against (Oxford University Press). His articles currently in press include, “Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity: Dispelling the Conceptual Fog,” Social Philosophy and Policy and “Freedom of Expression and Human Rights Law: The Case of Holocaust Denial,” in Maitra and McGowan, Speech and Harm (Oxford University Press). His recent publications include, “Discrimination,” Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and A Liberal Theory of International Justice, C.H. Wellman, coauthor (Oxford University Press).
